自転車も車両の一部として道路を走行する以上、交通ルールを守ることが求められます。今年４月からは自転車にも「青切符」が導入されます。でも、これは今までと走行上のルールが変わるということではなく、反則金を納付することで刑事裁判や前科にはならない（取り締まる側からみれば、これまでは刑事手続き（赤切符）が煩雑な故に“めんどうなので”見過ごされていた違反を取り締まりやすくなる）ということです。つまり、逆走や信号無視といった交通ルール違反は、今も昔もいけないのです。また、より良い“マナー”も心がけたいものです。周囲の安全確認はもちろん、積極的に手信号を使うなどして、交通の「一部」である行動をしてみましょう。もちろん、自転車通行可の歩道であっても、歩道を走る際は歩行者が最優先です。 Since bicycles are considered vehicles and travel on public roads, cyclists are required to follow traffic rules.
